The Singapore Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) provides a baseline standard of protection for personal data in Singapore. The PDPA recognises both the need to protect individuals’ personal data and the need of organisations to collect, use or disclose personal data for legitimate and reasonable purposes.
The Act was enacted in 2012. Amendments to the PDPA was passed in November 2020.
All organisations, including DSMR Group has to comply with PDPA. It is important for all DSMR Group Employees to understand the requirements of the PDPA as the compliance to the Act requires “whole-of-company” efforts. A data protection regime within DSMR Group is necessary to safeguard personal data from misuse, and to maintain our customers’ trust in us as we manage their data.
All Employees are required to undertake this e-learning refresher course on the “Introduction to Singapore PDPA”. It is mandatory for Employee to complete this course and the accompanying quizzes. Please note that the passing mark for each quiz is 100%. Employee must pass the quizzes to complete the course.

The IT Usage Policy describes the Dos and Don’ts of the Employees’ usage of the DSMR Group’s IT systems. This Policy is included in the DSMR Employee Handbook which has been shared with each employee in DSMR Group of companies.
It is important for each Employee to understand in detail the IT Usage Policy, and conform strictly to it.
All Employees are required to undertake this e-learning refresher course on the DSMR IT Usage Policy. It is mandatory for Employee to complete this course and the accompanying quiz. Please note that the passing mark for the quiz is 100%. Employee must pass the quiz to complete the course.

The “Introduction to Singapore PDPA” course covers the following subjects:
o Objectives and Benefits of PDPA
o Provisions under PDPA
o PDPA versus Cybersecurity
o What is Personal Data?
o Data Intermediary (DI)
o PDPA Obligations
The course is divided into two (2) Parts (Topics). Each Part will come with an e-learning slides follow by a quiz. The quiz will have 15 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). Please note that the passing mark for each quiz is 100%. Employee must pass both quizzes to complete the Part
This course and the accompanying quiz for each Part may take an Employee about 30 minutes to complete.

- Policy on confidential and personal information
- BYOD policy
- Teleworking policy
- Unattended and Clear Desk policy
- Email policy
- Password policy

This course also covers the various consequences of Employee’s violation of the IT Usage Policy.
This course may take an Employee about 20 minutes to complete.

In particular, organisations are required to designate at least one individual, known as the Data Protection Officer (DPO), to oversee the data protection responsibilities within the organisation and ensure compliance with the PDPA
It is important for senior management staff, head of departments of DSMR and the DSMR DPO to understand the roles and responsibilities of the DPO in order to support the DPO in his/her tasks. In addition, it is also important for the senior management staff who has been appointed as the DPO to have a good understanding of the tasks required of him/her in fulfilling his/her DPO role.
Senior management staff and head of departments are required to undertake this e-learning refresher course on the Introduction to Data Protection Officer (DPO). It is mandatory for these employees to complete this course.

Protection of privacy during the processing of PII ensures organizations are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations worldwide.
A privacy information management system (PIMS) expands upon the ISMS and addresses the protection of privacy as potentially affected by the processing of Personally identifiable information (PII).
ISO 27001 is a requirement for a PIMS (Privacy Information Management System) – ISO 27701.
It is important for each Employee to have an understanding of ISO 27701.
All Employees are required to undertake this e-learning refresher course on the Introduction to ISO 27701 (PIMS). It is mandatory for Employee to complete this course.

ISO 27001 is the international standard for effective information security management, offering a comprehensive approach to protecting an organisation's information from a wide range of threats and vulnerabilities.
ISO 27001 specifies the requirements to plan, establish, implement operate, monitor, review, maintain and continually improve a management system, as well as prepare, respond and deal with the consequences of information security incidents which are likely to happen.
It is important for each Employee to have an understanding of ISO 27001.

DSMR is adopting the ISO 27001 ISMS (information security management system) and ISO 27701 PIMS (privacy information management system) or PISMS for short.
PISMS enables DSMR to have an effective information security and privacy system, that provide clear clear policy and guidelines on the roles and responsibilities of its employees and its vendors.
By completing this course you will be able to understand the requirements of the controls, processes, and procedures that the company has put in place to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, availability and privacy of the data in its possession.

ISO 27701, also abbreviated as PIMS (Privacy Information Management System) outlines a framework for Personally Identifiable Information (PII) Controllers and PII Processors to manage data privacy. Privacy information management systems are sometimes referred to as personal information management systems.

ISO/IEC 27001 is the international standard for information security. It sets out the specification for an effective ISMS (information security management system).
